Dear Readers,
In an age of shorts, reels, and ever-shrinking attention spans—and as someone who truly loves to read and write—I felt it was the perfect time to bring back something old-school: blogging. As much about putting down my thoughts into words, it is also to communicate to you valued customers about who we are as a company and our work.😊
My parents got married in 1989 and had a dream since then of starting a food company. It took about 25 years for that dream to finally take shape. In 2016, they launched Dhrona with the first products – millet sattu maavu and mixes for kids & children. Juggling between raising a family and running a business was quite difficult and the company chugged along until COVID hit. It was a difficult time then as our retail sales stopped overnight, shelves went empty, and the entire business was on pause. However, this was a blessing in disguise as it gave us an opportunity to rethink our entire business.
Around the same time, my wife and I had our first daughter and we decided to move back to India so she could grow up with her grandparents. My wife and I joined our parents to support them, focused on online as much as we did with our retail distribution and launched new SKU’s like millet laddoos, millet cookies and savouries such as murukku (chakli to my north Indian friends) etc and things began to look up. And so far as of 2025, the journey has been nothing short of promising and exciting. Our retail distribution has expanded to 300 stores around Coimbatore, Erode, Chennai South and are expanding our reach steadily. We have served more than 1000+ customers online and are surprised (happy too😊)to see orders coming in from as far away as Kashmir, Nagaland and so on.
Through it all, our mission however has been the same. Ensuring that healthy, millet-based food is available to everyone in India. We want to make good food at an affordable price so everyone irrespective of background can buy it. That is our long-term goal.
And to end this, I wish those of you who have made it this far good health and long life and see you until the next blog.
- Thanks,
Dev Aditya
P.S: If you’ve tried our products before, I’d love to hear from you. If you haven’t yet, maybe give us a try? Either way, your feedback - good, bad or anything in between - is always welcome.
